'Organic is Our Mantra'

KOCHI: The health consciousness among the people has triggered a trend for organic, pesticide free and healthy foods. Cashing in on the trend various companies and organisations have now began investing in cultivating pesticide free grains and pulses as well providing healthier lifestyles.

One among them is 24 Mantra Organic, an initiative by Sresta Natural BioProducts based in Hyderabad. “We aim to bring in better, chemical and pesticide free options thereby enabling marginalised farmers to earn a sustainable living. With over 20,000 farmers working on 30 farming projects spread over 1,00,000 acres in 15 states in the country, we aim to set up an organic ecosystem in India. This will help in making food devoid of poisonous contaminants available to consumers and helping farmers get remuneration they deserve. We aim to bring together about thirty to fifty small scale farmers, identifying their farms that can be utilised for organic farming and forging a state of understanding among themselves, decontaminating the overused soil of toxic elements and partnering with international agencies that certify the methods of farming to produce food that is 100 per cent healthy,” the firm claims.
