KOCHI: The departments of Prosthodontics and Public Health Dentistry at Amrita School of Dentistry here will organise a free annual denture camp titled ‘Amritasmitham-2015’ at Kalpetta in Wayanad from September 1 to 4, in connection with the 62nd birthday celebrations of Mata Amritanandamayi.

Amritasmitham is an outreach programme held every year. Under the programme, free dentures are provided to all the registered participants within a short period of time.

Denture delivery usually involves a lot of labour and time. The programme is unique in that the dedicated team, including specialists, work continuously to ensure fast delivery.

This year’s camp will include  tobacco cessation programmes, under the aegis of Amrita Kripa Charitable  Hospital, Kaninaty, Kalpetta, to bring down  tobacco consumption, which is  very  high among tribesmen.

The dentures will be personally delivered  by Swami Purnamritananda Puri on September 4.
