“We suspect it to be a case of suicide. However, a detailed probe is required to ascertain the cause of death. An inquest will be conducted on Tuesday in the presence of the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO),” said officials of the Vadakkekara police station.   Meanwhile, local leaders of the NDA and the BJDS claimed that Venu was facing threats ever since he left the CPM and joined the new party. According to them, a petition was filed  a few months ago after Venu informed the police that he was facing threats.
