KOCHI: Palestine Ambassador to India Adnan Abu Alhaija urged the international community to boycott all the sub-products of Israeli invasion of Palestine.

Speaking after inaugurating the India-Israel Friendship Council here on Monday, Alhaija said Israel should be made accountable for the crimes it has unleashed against the people of Palestine. “The practice initiated by the European Union (EU) of separately labelling products from illegal Israeli settlements inside Palestine is an indicator of the changing perception among the international community, and shows that the world has started reacting to Israel’s aggression. The EU’s decision is a message to the world that products from Israeli settlements inside Palestine should be termed as ‘illegal’, just like Israel’s invasion of Palestine,” he said.

Enumerating the recent brutal attacks on Palestine by Israel, Alhaija said the actual scale of the atrocities did not reflect in the media. “The series of attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem by Israeli ultras had serious implications. The Israeli government blatantly violates the status quo agreed in 1967, and has been provoking the sentiments of Palestine people across the world,” he said, and thanked the Indian people and governments for the support they extended to his country. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition V S Achuthanandan in a recorded video message extended all support to the fight for justice and freedom by the people of Palestine. The function was presided over by India-Palestine Friendship Council president P K Venugopal.
