School teacher wins award

KOCHI: Ralfy N T, convener of anti-drug club ‘Kuttipattalam’, St Augustine School Ernakulam, won this year’s state award constituted by the Excise Department for spreading awareness among people about the misuse of drugs. The event was held at Thiruvananthapuram V J T Hall on the other day. A cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with a memento were awarded to the winner by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Excise Minister Ramakrishnan, Excise Commissioner Rishiraj Singh I P S and V S Shivakumar MLA were also present at the event.

Kuttipatalam, which has also won the state award for the best anti-drug club in the previous year has also published a magazine titled ‘Nava Unarvu’ on anti-drugs. The club has also brought out CD’s, made a short film named ‘Charubanchu’, which was screened at many schools, as part of the campaign.
