KOCHI: Lal V B will now light up four lives. A Thrissur native and resident of Panangad, the 52-year-old met with an accident after his bike collided with a car at Mathilakam on Sunday afternoon. He was declared brain dead early on Tuesday. With permission from his immediate family members, procedure to donate his vital organs began.
His liver and one kidney were transplanted to patients at Aster Medcity, one kidney was taken to Kottayam Medical College and cornea was given to Giridhar hospital, Kochi.
Lal was a businessman and an active member of Accident Care and Transport Service( ACTS), a voluntary service in Thrissur. His wife is an employee of KSFE Kodungalloor and daughter Keerthana is a Plus I student.The multiple transplant surgeries were led by Dr Rajeev Lochan, Integrated Liver Care Consultant.
