KOCHI: Pulsar Suni had directed him to join a ‘job’ and had not known it was to abduct the actor, Manikandan, who was arrested in connection with the sexual assault case of a prominent actor in a moving car, told the investigators.

Though the investigators arrested Manikandan from Palakkad on Monday night, his arrest was recorded only on Tuesday morning.

Top officers are interrogating the accused at the camp of Ernakulam Rural SP, Aluva. According to the investigating officers, Manikandan was one among the gang members who travelled in the car of the actor along with Suni. “Suni had offered a share and had not disclosed more about the operation.

Only when I saw the actor in the car did I know the job was to abduct her”, he reportedly stated before the police.

After the incident, Suni and Manikandan fled to Coimbatore from Alappuzha. Later, they parted ways at Coimbatore. There were reports that Manikandan entered into a verbal duel with Suni over the share in an inebriated state. According to Manikandan, Suni himself planned and executed the operation.

So far, the cops have arrested four gang members- Martin, the driver of the actor, Vadival Salim aka Salim, Pradeep and Manikandan. Besides, Manu, Anvar and Sunil were arrested from Ambalappuzha for allegedly helping Pulsar Suni and two other accused Manikandan and Vijeesh in eluding the police.

Meanwhile, forensic experts examined the Mahindra XUV, bearing registration number KL-39F-5744, in which the actor was assaulted. The vehicle belongs to Blessy Susan Varghese.
