KOCHI: The examination results are out and those who completed their Class X11 are faced with the biggest question of their lives- which course  will determine their future and career. Though some students, who come from urban and semi-urban schools, are told early on to be focused on the courses and colleges, there are numerous students in the country who only begin to look at options when the results are out.

To bring in more clarity, Jesjith C V and Prince Baby, two youngsters from Kottayam in Kerala, have launched a website, bewhom.in, which helps the indecisive and the confused. “I am a B.Tech graduate. But, my passion from a very young age was photography. In those days, I never knew that you could study photography or build a career in it. Now with the surge of internet use and other technology, we have many options in our hands,” Jesjith said about his inspiration to start the website.

How it works

Once you log onto the site, you are required to enter your area of interest, the kind of course that you are willing to undertake and your financial status. Once this data is entered, the site shows a list of courses offered in the area in the state. Each link directs you to the college website or gives you the contact information of the college. Jesjith says they have received nearly 10,000 users and 1,500 registered users during the first month since its inception.

“We have listed almost all the courses offered by 16 universities in Kerala. We also plan to include private institutions and other reputed institutes in our website soon,” said Jesjith. The duo also plans to launch an app by next year. “We’ll also make study materials, previous year question papers and information on scholarships to our database, so that our platform becomes a one-stop-shop for all the needs of a students who is looking for a course of his/her choice.”
