KOCHI: The City Police on Sunday arrested two youths involved in the sale of ganja among youngsters in the city through WhatsApp groups. The cops arrested Varappuzha natives Dixon Benny, 20, and a 17-year-old and recovered around half a kg of ganja from their possession.
During investigation, the sleuths found the duo were the admin of at least three WhatsApp groups named ‘Leaves of Jamaica’, ‘Bobo Bush’, ‘Jiggle Smoke’, using which they sold weed to college students, including women, in Kochi.
The duo used to buy ganja from Savakkattupalayam in Tamil Nadu for `9,000/kg and sold it in packets of 100g for `3,000 per packet. They used to bring the ganja from Tamil Nadu to the city on inter-state luxury buses.
