KOCHI: In a major success likely to throw light on several unsolved burglary cases in central Kerala, a three-member Tamil Nadu-based gang of robbers was apprehended by the local police.

Those arrested were Krishnan alias Sundaran alias Vishnukutty,42, his brother Pandyan alias Santosh Pandyan,35, and Rajendran,58. While Sundaran and Pandyan belonged to Kamakshipuram in Theni district, Rajendran hailed from Alakapuri. Police said the trio had pulled off the three back-to-back robbery cases reported from Vengola, Marble Junction and Thadiyitta Parambu here. It was a police team led by Perumbavoor Circle Inspector Baiju Poulose which nabbed the gang members from their hideout in Tamil Nadu last week. “They would break into the houses and assault the occupants if they resisted the burglary attempt,” the officials said.
