KOCHI: For this budding producer and singer, bringing out a music video was just a matter of chance. But the amount of work that he and his team put into it to make it a big hit can be seen in the music video ‘Kattuppovu’ . Ekalavyan, the mastermind and the singer behind the video decided to blend meaningful classical malayalam lyrics along with the genre of drum and base.
The making of the video was a momentory thought by Ekalavyan. He says, “ I happened to meet Binoy Antony at a party and both of us shared the idea of working together on a project and then came up the idea of making ‘Kattuppovu’, the music video. The lyrics of the song is written by his mother Ambili who always wished it to be produced on a larger canvas. “The basic tune to the song was given instantly and it was recorded on my phone,” he said.
He worked on the song for almost a month and then came the crew with John Athul George as the director; Shaijal P V, the editor and Abhishek Menon, the music director. The lyrics of the song has been written by Ambili Subhash and the lead roles have been played by Binoy Antony and Seethal Prince. The song was shot for four days at Kuzipilly and at skyline citypark Kadavantara although it was interrupted due to harsh climatic conditions. “There were few portions where we couldn’t shoot because of the rain and so we had to change some of the locations,” he said. The song which has been shot at a budget of Rs Three lakh fifty thousand is creating waves on social media and has crossed the number of viewers.
The singer-cum-producer is a former radio personality and now intends to complete his studies in Law from Govt. Law college, Ernakulam. Ekalavyan says, “Life is good and I have taken up music in order to make the world I live in, a better place. “With his passion for music, he wishes to make more music videos and the net one is going to be released by 2018 . The temporary name given to it is ‘Malsakhi nyanorkkunnu’ which will be a music accompanied by a different lyrics and it will based on a true story.
