PALAKKAD: The government will implement agriculture development schemes in Attappadi only after considering the views and opinions of the Adivasis, said Agriculture Minister V S Sunil Kumar.
He was speaking after inaugurating the special millet village scheme in the KILA conference hall in Agali on Tuesday. The programme is jointly implemented by the Agriculture Department, Scheduled Castes and Tribes Development Department and local bodies.

"The government is implementing the millet village scheme to encourage traditional farming among the Adivasi population," said the minister. "The reason for infant deaths in Attappadi was the absence of nutritious food which has resulted in the deteriorating health conditions of Adivasis," he said.
