MUMBAI: The anti-extortion cell of Thane police have recovered an AK 56 assault rifle with 100 live cartridges, two pistols, 13 rounds and three mobile phones. from a suspected Dawood aide at Bangur nagar area of Western Mumbai, the police said on Saturday.

Naim Fahim Khan (42) is the suspected Dawood aide was arrested by the police as the recovered the arms and ammunition. Naim had been in hiding for a long time, the police have said.Several questions are being raised on how the advanced weapon like AK 56 reached Mumbai. The police said that investigations are underway in the case.
