THE Christ Nagar Higher Secondary School has received the British Council International School Award, for having successfully implemented an accreditation scheme for curriculum-based international work in the school.
The award is given in recognition of the school’s international activities spread across varied subjects during 2007-08. Chris Gibson, Director, British Council, South India, presented the award at a function held at Chennai recently. School Principal Rev Fr Mathews Chackalackal CMI received the award.
Thomas Mani, Vice-Principal of CNHSS, had co-coordinated the ISA programme in the school under the guidance of Fr Mathews.
Christ Nagar Higher Secondary School is one among the 28 schools in India to receive the award. Accreditation under this award programme is valid for three years (2008-11).
Under the programme, the school had launched the academic year with the promotional theme, ‘Growing Up Gracefully’. Students from Cleveland State University, Ohio, USA, teachers from seven schools in Bristol city, London and volunteer teachers from UK and an Anglo-American school in Russia had visited the school as part of the programme.
