THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Banatone Industries, which brought Banatone banana powder in the market for kids, has now come up with its new product - banana flakes. The company, which has received ISO 9001-2000 certification, launched the product at a function held at Hotel Maurya Rajdhani.
Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem inaugurated the product launch ceremony. Dr C.R. Soman lit the traditional lamp. Actress Meera Nandan inaugurated the sale of the product.
Banana flakes are the result of continuous research carried out by the company. The fibre present in the product helps in controlling blood pressure. The antacid effect gives protection from peptic ulcer. Since it contains pectin, the ulcer in small intestine can be avoided.
As it contains less sugar, it can be consumed by diabetics. It is also considered a pre-biotic nourishing food. The flakes have been proved effective in preventing night blindness. It digests easily and can be used by people of any age. The company assures the consumers that no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives are used in banana flakes.
