THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: December has arrived and so have the fairs. Inaugurating the shopping season, the North East Crafts Fair will line up exquisite wares at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium from Wednesday.

Woven cane furniture, dry flowers, wooden handicrafts and the Naga spear of the tribals from Nagaland, hand-woven fabrics with rich and intricate embroidery typical of Assam, carpets with exotic oriental motifs from Arunachal Pradesh, bamboo articles from Mizoram, silk and cotton fabrics and sarees from Manipur and plenty of other indigenous products will make it a true shopper’s paradise.

Mayor K Chandrika will inaugurate the exhibition at 11 am. The venue will be open every day from 10 am to 9 pm.
