25 sovereigns of gold stolen

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Around 25 sovereigns of gold were robbed from a house near Amaravila check-post in the district on Sunday night.

The gold ornaments and Rs 25,000 in cash were stolen from the house of one Sisupalan, of Kavyanjali, Amaravila, when the members of the family were away to attend a wedding reception of their relative. Police said the robbery occurred between 5 pm and 10 pm.

 When the family members came back, it was found that the back door of the house was  broken. When they further inspected the shelves and other doors, they too were found broken.

 Police said that till now, no clue has been obtained about the culprits.
