THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 87th Painguni Uthram Mahotsavam will be celebrated at Valiasalai Gramam on Thursday by the Chalai Grama Brahmana Samudayam. As a prelude to the Mahotsavam, a ‘bhajan’, ‘Bhagavathi seva’ and other pooja ceremonies will be held on Wednesday from 6.30 pm onwards.

The ‘abhishekam’ procession from the Gramam Maha Ganapathy Temple to the Dharma Sastha Sannidhi at the Valiasalai Mahedevar Temple will begin at 8 am on Thursday.

The ‘pooja deeparadhana’ will be held at 9 am. It will be followed by ‘changala deepam’ procession to the Samudhayam Pandal at the Chalai Gramam. ‘Sastha pooja’, ‘deeparadhana’ and ‘samaradhana’ will be held at the pandal from 10 am onwards.

‘Sahasranama japam’ and ‘panaka pooja’ will begin at 6.30 pm. Lord Ayyappa devotional songs, ‘bhajan’ and ‘deeparadhana’ will be held from 9 pm onwards.

‘Sree Suryanarayana pooja’ will begin at 8.30 am on Friday, the concluding day of the mahotsavam.
