THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a noble gesture, Labour Minister Shibu Baby John on Thursday, announced free baby beds to all children in the anganavadis of his Constituency.

The Minister said that the Coirfed would supply baby-beds to all the children of the 211 child-day-care centres in the Chavara Assembly Constituency in Kollam. The government has sanctioned Rs 8.8 lakh to Coirfed in this regard, he said.

The decision was taken after the Minister came to know about the poor condition and lack of facilities at anganavadis, when he paid visited to the centres.

The new baby beds, a new product of the Coirfed, are made available in the market at a price of Rs 600 and as an introductory offer, a pillow is given free along with the bed.
