THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two people were killed and 11 persons were injured in three separate road accidents in various parts of the district on Friday.

 The first accident occurred at Velarkudi in the morning, which falls under the Attingal police station limits.

 Rajendran, a daily labourer, was killed when a private bus rammed into his motor cycle near the Girls HSS. The bus was heading for Attingal while Rajendran was coming in the opposite direction. The private bus which lost control turned turtle and eight people were injured.

 In another accident at Paravankunnu, near Manacaud, in the evening, a retired joint secretary of the General Administration Department was killed. The deceased has been identified as Purushothaman of Muttathara. The motor cycle he was riding collided with a city service bus near Paravankunnu killing him on the spot. Three people were injured in another road mishap at Thattathumala near Kilimanoor. A Thiruvananthapuram-bound car bumped into another vehicle while trying to overtake it. The car lost control and collided rammed into another vehicle. Three people, hailing from Thiruvalla, were critically injured in the accident. They were admitted to a private hospital here.
