THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The heart-rendering romantic numbers that East Coast albums are known for would be right there on the computer screen to listen or watch, at the click of a mouse. The East Coast group is launching a ‘playstation’ which would be a one-stop site for audio and video streaming of East Coast songs and videos.

The playstation, www.eastcoastplaystation.com, along with a variety of activities from the group, would be launched in the city on Thursday.

The more than 5,000 songs that have been born out of the East Coast group plus the videos, albums, telefilms and stage shows hosted or conducted by the group could be viewed in the playstation at www.eastcoastplaystation.com.

Not only the playstation, but the group is also officially launching its online daily, www.eastcoastdaily.com on that day. The daily has real-time updates on the political and other happenings in the State and outside. ‘’We are giving online medium this much importance because it is tomorrow’s medium. People are hooked to online media and we are seeing the influence it has on them,’’ said East Coast Vijayan, who is behind the group and its initiatives.

According to him, it was when he joined Facebook that he got to know the reach of social networking sites. The group then formed a Facebook family club that has over 25,000 members now. The group discusses, promotes and encourages good music and is all set to form a charitable trust.

‘’We are also launching a socio-cultural and literary magazine by the name ‘Theneecha’ on the same day,’’ he said. The magazine would promote new talents and would give exclusive space to cultural news.

The online activities and the trust will be launched at a function to be held at the East Coast office at Sasthamangalam on Thursday, at 4 pm.
