THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Kalakendram has instituted an award for upcoming women short story writers in memory of the late Kamala Surayya. The award will be given to the first short story published after January 2009.
Preference will be given to short stories that were published as a book or in a contemporary magazine.
The entries that are received before May 5 will be scrutinised and shortlisted. The best work will be given the award on May 31, the death anniversary of Kamala Surayya.
