THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Deputy Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya will head the Special Investigation Team to probe into the fake stamp paper racket case.
City Police Commissioner T J Jose will monitor the investigation. The other members of the team are Assistant Police Commissioners K S Vimalkumar and K E Baiju, Circle Inspectors M Prakash and T Mohanan Nair, Sub-Inspectors Gopakumar, C Mohanan and Grade SI Satheeshkumar.
Raids on Residences
Meanwhile, a police team led by AC K S Vimal Kumar conducted raids on the residences of advocates V R Rajmohan Nair and B Baburaj on Sunday. The forged stamp papers were first detected in cases represented by the two advocates.
‘’Sufficient evidence have been collected to indict the advocates,’’ an official said.
The officials would next probe the involvement of Vijayan, an advocate clerk, in the case as the advocates have blamed him for the fraud.
Vijayan had gone absconding after the case was registered.
The prime accused K S Sreedharan Nair is also absconding. Nair has been doing business at the District Court Complex for the past forty years.
