THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Bank Employees’ Union Hall in the city will witness a unique get-together this Sunday. The Kwan-Wing Kungu Satheendran Health Club is planning to bring different styles of martial arts, including Kerala’s own Kalaripayattu, on a single platform.

The event has been titled ‘Jackie Chan  Martial Arts Festival.’ There will be seminars and discussions on various aspects of martial arts on the occasion. The event will feature Kung fu, Karate and Taekwondo artistes, in addition to Kalari performers, Satheendran said.

‘’Now, all of these arts are highly compartmentalised in Kerala. There is no exchange of ideas. Our plan is to bring all of them together on a single platform, as in the West,’’ he said. The event has been named after Jackie Chan as he had played a crucial role in popularising martial arts across the globe, Satheendran said.

The event is planned for 3 pm on Sunday. Martial artistes interested in participating can call Satheendran on 9847716888.
