NBC-2012 Photography Awards announced

The results of the photography contest conducted by the Kerala State Biodiversity Board (KSBB) in connection with the National Biodiversity Expo and Congress, to be held later this month, have been declared.

Ullas G Kalappura of Kattappana South, Kunthalampara, Idukki, bagged the first prize of Rs 15,001 along with a certificate and memento.

The second prize went to Joby Mon C P of Areepparambu, Kottayam, while Benny Ajantha of Vilavinal, Pathanamthitta won the third prize. The cash awards for the second and third positions are Rs 10,001 and Rs 5,001 respectively.

“Since the response to the contest was tremendous, KSBB would be awarding 10 consolation prizes as well,” said member-secretary K P Laladhas, KSBB.

The consolation prize winners are B S Biju, Kadavoor, Kollam; Rajan Kuttur, Kuttur, Thrissur; Salim Picham, Kalpetta, Wayanad; Babu Thomas, Rajakad, Idukki; D Karthika, Pulayanarkotta, Thiruvananthapuram; Prakash Thachakkady, Vanchiyoor, Thiruvananthapuram; M D Bijulal, Kanjiramkulam, Thriuvananthapuram; Devadas, Ulloor, Thiruvananthapuram; T  Anilkumar, Edappally, Kochi and P Karunakaran, Golf Links Road, Thiruvananthapuram.

The prizes will be given away at the inaugural ceremony of National Biodiversity Congress 2012, which would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on December 21 at Kanakakunnu Palace here.
