Karshaka Rakshayatra to conclude tomorrow

The Karshaka Rakshayatra led by NCP state president T P Peethambaran Master will conclude at Thiruvananthapuram on December 15, informed NCP media committee chairman Uzhavoor Vijayan in a release  here on Thursday.

 The yatra raising various demands such as the implementation of agricultural package, protection of agricultural land and finding a solution to the crisis in agriculture had begun in Kasargod on November 17.

 The yatra was given receptions at over 200 stations in the 14 districts of the state. Apart from the NCP members, representatives of various farmers unions as well as Left leaders had taken part in the receptions.

 The yatra will be accompanied by different art forms and percussion ensemble to the Putharikandam Maidan here. The public meeting which will follow will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Agriculture Tariq Anwar.  NCP all-India general secretary D P Tripathi will preside over the meeting.

 NCP working committee members A C Shanmughadas, Thomas Chandy MLA, A K Sasindran, Varkala B Ravikumar, Adv Babu Karthikeyan and Uzhavoor Vijayan will speak on the occasion.
