The Kerala University on Friday bid farewell to Vice-Chancellor A Jayakrishnan. In his reply, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the teachers, staff and students of the university for wholeheartedly cooperating with his efforts and for having trust in him.
Quoting from Sree Narayana Guru’s ‘Atmopadeshashatakam’ he said people should not hurt others. Jayakrishnan concluded his speech reciting Sister Mary John Koothattukulam’s poem which sought blessings from all.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor J Prabhash presented a memento to the outgoing VC. Syndicate members B S Jyothikumar, P S Sreekala, Fasaluddeen Haq, Senate members K Sunil Kumar, University Union chairman Joshy John, Registrar Suresh Babu, T Rajmohan, G Raju, M M Sharafuddeen and S Najimuddeen spoke. Students, teachers and other staff of the university attended the farewell function.
