Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan on Saturday ordered a probe by ADGP (south) A Hemachandran into the incident in which a Circle Inspector attached with the State Women’s Commission is alleged to have made vulgar remarks to a woman over phone.

The incident came to light when a section of the media reported it on Saturday. The woman, a native of Palode near here, had lodged a complaint with the Women’s Commission one month ago against her lover who allegedly deserted her after she had eloped with him. She alleged that the CI started telephoning her ever since the complaint was filed. At first it was for official purpose, but later the tone and expressions turned vulgar, she alleged.

AIYF Protest

Meanwhile, AIYF activists on Saturday blocked the office of Women’s Commission chairperson K Rosakutty to protest against the incident.

CPI district secretary Venjarammod Sasi, AIYF leaders Kaladi Jayachandran and P K Raju met the women’s commission chairperson. They demanded action against the CI.
