C Sankaranarayanan Media Awards for 2012 has been announced. The award in the print category went to Aneesh Jacob, chief reporter, Mathrubhoomi. The award, instituted by the C Sankaranayanan Society for Media Studies, carries a purse of Rs 25,000 and a citation.
The award judging committee for the print category included C Gowridasan Nair, M G Radhakrishnan and T Sasimohan. Aneesh Jacob was selected for various reports that he did over a year.
The award for the visual media category went to Indiavision senior reporter Nadeera Ajmal.
The report was on the increasing suicide tendency among the Indian diaspora in Gulf countries.
The jury included Baiju Chandran, Jacob George and Sunnykutty Abraham.
The awards will be presented by Union Minister K V Thomas at the Fourth Estate Hall of the Press Club here on December 21 at 11 a m.
