KELTRON bags order

The Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (KELTRON) has received orders worth Rs 5 crore from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for manufacturing Towed Sonar Receiver Arrays.

 The orders have been placed by DRDO’s Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi.

 The arrays will be manufactured at the Towed Array Assembly and Testing Facility at KELTRON Controls, Aroor, KELTRON managing director C Prasannakumar said.

  KELTRON has been manufacturing the arrays, used to detect approaching enemy underwater vehicles such as submarines, for some years now.

 KELTRON is also in the process of readying a manufacturing and quality testing facility of global standards at Aroor, Prasannakumar said.
