Keralites do understand the value of knowledge and that is why they give more importance to knowledge than anything else, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor has said.
Tharoor was inaugurating the distribution of ‘Excellence Awards’ and medical-educational aid to the needy organised by the Thiruvananthapuram Educational & Charitable Centre.
General secretary A Saifudeen Haji presided over the function while Kerala Sahitya Akademi chairman Perumbadavam Sreedharan was the chief guest.
The Excellence Award 2012 instituted for exemplary contribution to socio-humanitarian-voluntary fields were presented to Haji V Hasan(MD,BK Group, Dubai), K A Mansur Haji (Chairman,Crystal Group), A M Faizal Khan (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, NIMS), Mukri Ibrahim Haji (president, Thalankara Muslim Jamaath) and Sulfiker Aboobaker. E M Najeeb, Sidhique Saqafi Nemom and P K Muhammed Badusha Saqafi spoke on the occasion.
