Music shows, travelogues, celebrity chats, a Rajesh Khanna ‘nite’ and ‘Kalasandhya’ are among the programmes planned for telecast by the Doordarshan Kendra, here on New Year’s eve. ‘Nazhiyurippalukondu,’ a music show by playback singers P Jayachandran, G Venugopal, Krishnachandran, Sudeep Kumar, Rajalakshmi and others will be telecast at 8.30 a.m. ‘Nilaanadiyude Theeram,’ a travelogue featuring writer Anita Nair and Sopanam singer Njeralathu Harigovindan will be telecast at 2 p.m.
Historian M G S Narayanan will deliver the New Year message. Celebrity chats are scheduled for 1.30 p.m., 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. with Anu Mol, Suresh Krishna and Bhagath. ‘Yeh Shaam Mastani’ - Rajesh Khanna Nite, will be telecast at 5.30 p.m. Variety entertainment shows, comedy skits and dance and music shows will be telecast from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The next hour will be dedicated to a round-up of the past year’s events. From 11 p.m. to 12 midnight, a ‘count-down’ show by techies will be telecast.
