THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: M C Jacob has taken over as the Chief General Manager of State Bank of Travancore.
Starting his banking career in 1974 as a probationary officer in SBT, Jacob had held several key assignments in the bank as Assistant General Manager at Kottayam-Pathanamthitta Zones, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana and Maharashtra.
On elevation as Deputy General Manager he served at the Chennai Zone of SBT and the Secunderabad and Hyderabad Zones of SBH. He had worked in SBI Capital Markets, Mumbai and SBI Mutual Funds and also at SBI Paris. In the 80s, he had two stints in the USA.
After promotion as General Manager, he had served at State Bank of Indore. Prior to the present elevation, he has been General Manager (Agrl) and CRO at State Bank of Hyderabad. Jacob is the first Indian to receive both the Rotary Group Study Exchange Award and the Rotary Foundation Vocational Training Award.
