THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 108 ambulance was attacked at Nedumangad Taluk Hospital on Friday. The Nedumangad Police took six persons into custody in connection with the incident. The ambulance had brought a person injured in an accident to the hospital.
While the doctor was examining the patient, whose condition was said to be safe, the ambulance staff went for lunch. The accused, friends of the patient, wanted the patient to be shifted to the Medical College Hospital.
“Provoked by the delay in service, they attacked the ambulance,” Nedumangad Police said. Officials of the ambulance service said that the staff had gone for lunch after getting permission from their head office.
“The doctors also didn’t ask the staff to shift the patient,” they said.
