It was only love for music that got this band of boys to take time out of their settled jobs and realise their dream. Thus was born La Cochin, the music album with eight tracks that released a few years ago.

The album was well-received, and the group came out with a video of one of the popular songs, ‘Ninne’. The number created waves, and now, the makers are back with the second video, ‘Kochi Namma Nadu’, a musical tribute to Kochi.

“The immense public response for the song prompted us to make the video. We were the opening band for Kochi Tuskers and had sung the song at several occasions,” says Dijo Jose Antony, a software professional and the master brain behind the venture.

The number, ‘Kochi Namma Nadu’ has been spiced up with the local Kochi slang and flavoured with country rap. The guitar rendition and the whole rhythm lends the song a Spanish feel. “The song has skillfully fused Spanish rendering style with Kochi’s local feel. We were absolutely keen that the song should have a local touch to it,” Dijo adds.

The local video might be viewed as promotional activity for Kochi, but the makers say they have spared no expenses to give it a professional and international feel. “We have used the experience and expertise of 20 plus technicians along with all the available resources, including a 70 mm HD camera,” they tells us. The song captures the various spots which bears the soul of Kochi. The video, which portrays the spirit and life of the city along with the promises it has for the next generation, will be released on Saturday.

Dijo has sung the song while Midhun Raj, an officer at Federal Bank, has given the backing vocals. Desmond has sung the rap while Muvish Murali has penned the song. The video directed by Sarang Brothers is supported by A C Xavier of AC City Builders.
