THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Workers affiliated to the Kerala State Construction Workers Federation (CITU) will take out a march on February 17 across the state raising various demands. The decision was taken at the state committee meeting held here the other day.
The demands include release of benefits from the Construction Workers’ Welfare Fund on time and government approval to the decision to increase the death benefits to Rs 25,000. Steps to make the Construction Academy functional, permission to restart operations in closed quarries and collection and distribution of sand from the dams will also be highlighted.
