THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister V S Sivakumar released the logo of the interstate ‘Gandhi Peace Bus’ at a function held at Gandhi Bhavan. The Peace Bus will ply from Kanyakumari to Mangalore along the places and institutions Gandhiji had visited during his five visits to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karnataka. The Transport Minister said that the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, a joint sponsor of the project, feels it an honour to associate itself with this historic initiative of the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi.

As many as 40 youngsters selected from the four states will get a rare opportunity to travel along the historic places associated with Gandhi.

A part of the programme to mark the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, the Gandhi Peace Bus, to be flagged off from Kanyakumari, will stop at over 80 places, informed Smarak Nidhi working chairman N Radhakrishnan.

The bus will cover the four southern states during May 8-24.
