THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The C vault of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple here would be opened on Monday for scientific documentation of articles. As per the plan, the documentation process would begin in the presence of expert committee members from 11 a m and would continue till 5 p m.

It is learnt that on Monday, the documentation of articles from only C vault would take place and the documentation of articles from E and F vaults that was carried out last week would resume later in the week.

Most of the articles from these vaults that were added to the inventory are used for pooja purposes in the temple.

One of the members of the expert committee said that each batch of articles would have 100 items each having a separate bar code.

On Monday, experts from Keltron, gemmologist and expert panel members would be present for the documentation which would be recorded using CCTV cameras.

The articles would be taken out, digitally archived using the technology from Keltron and would be placed back.

On Friday, around 10 articles used for various pooja purposes including gold plates and gold utensils were documented. The articles that were left out from the vaults E and F are mostly articles, with precious stones embedded on them.

On Friday, the expert panel also held meeting with officials of Keltron and VSSC to ensure that the documentation process can be carried out as per plan from Monday. Though the actual plan was to document the articles from C vault first, it was sealed by Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sub-Court.

The Supreme Court on Thursday had given its nod for the opening of the C and D vaults.

The SC also ruled that presence of the Advocates’ Commission appointed by the Sub-Court was not necessary during the inventory process of the C vault.
