Road safety week: NATPAC to organise programmes

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC) will be organising various programmes in the city in connection with the observance of road safety week 2012.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC) will be organising various programmes in the city in connection with the observance of road safety week 2012.

  Road safety classes and audio visual programmes would be arranged up to January 5 for the general public at the December fest, NATPAC pavilion in Kanakakunnu palace. Painting, quiz and elocution competition will be held for LP, UP, high school, higher secondary and degree students of Thiruvananthapuram district on January 4 at Sasthra Bhavan. An expert panel discussion on ‘Safer Roads for Kerala’ will be organised at Mascot Hotel on Jan 6. NATPAC is launching a new programme on ‘Road Safety Youth Leadership’. The state level inauguration of the programme will be conducted by Transport Minister V S Sivakumar on Jan 7 at Sastra Bhavan at 10 a.m.

Executive vice- president, KSCSTE V N Rajeshekaran Pillai will preside over the function.  Students who are interested in participating in the completions should report at Sastra Bhavan on Jan 4 at 9.30 a.m. with their ID’s of their educational institution.
