THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet meeting on Wednesday decided to increase the educational benefits given to the Pre-matric, Post-matric courses for SC/ST students.
In pre-matric section, the allowance for nursery school has been increased to Rs 150, for Lower Primary to Rs 250, Upper Primary to Rs 250 and High School to Rs 750.
In post-matric section Plus-I, Plus-II, Vocational Higher Secondary courses the allowance has been set as Rs 900 which was Rs 715 earlier.
For BA, BSc, BCom, BEd courses, the allowance has been increased to Rs 1000 from Rs 790. For MA, Msc, Mcom, MSW courses, it will Rs 1250 from Rs 1010.
