KC Vamadevan award for Kosala Ramadas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prominent trade union leader Kosala Ramadas was selected for the K C Vamadevan Foundation Award for his comprehensive contribution to the working class movement.   The award carries a cash prize of Rs 11,111, citation and memento.

Social worker and Kshema Foundation general secretary G S Syamlal was selected for the  K C Vamadevan Award for the best social worker. The award comprises a cash prize of `5,001,citation and memento. Announcing the award, president of the foundation S R Jinendra Kumar, secretary K V Anil Mithra, treasurer K Jayamohan, executive members V Sisupala Panicker, Vettakulam Sivanandan and M S Vinayachandran said the award ceremony would be held on January 20 at 5.30 p m at the Theerthapada Mandapam.

Speaker G Karthikeyan and Labour Minister Shibu Baby John would present the awards. Former Speaker M Vijayakumar would preside over the function. Former minister  N K Premachandran would deliver the K C Memorial lecture.

Mayor K Chandrika would distribute treatment assistance. MLAs C Divakaran, Varkala Kahar , Jameela Prakasham , CPM district secretary Kadakampally Surendran, Antony Raju and BJP leader M S Kumar would speak.

A judging committee comprising  V Sisupala Panicker, M S Vinayachandran, K Santhosh,S R Jinendra Kumar and K V Anil Mithra selected the awardees.
