THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sobha Koshy, Chief Post Master General, Kerala has urged women bank officers to face any given situation so as to build a future on their own. She also observed that women bank officers are capable enough to deal with any negative impact in the economic and social sector.

She was delivering the keynote address at a seminar on ‘Working women: Career and social issues’ organised by the All-India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) here the other day as a prelude to the State Women’s Conference on January 22.

Inaugurating the seminar, Jameela Prakasam, MLA, requested officers to show solidarity with the distressed and poor in the society. “They should also learn more modern strategies of management and develop their career,” she said.

R Parvathi Devi presented the topic. Omana V Thomas, Women’s Wing chairperson, presided over the function. Vijaya Ananthakrishnan, president, Dhanlaxmi Bank Officers’ Organisation, was the moderator.

Indira Raveendran, working president, Kerala Mahila Sangham, T M Rajalakshmi, deputy secretary, AIBOC and B  Jayalakshmi, vice-chairperson, Women’s Wing, also spoke.

The State Women’s Conference would be inaugurated by Speaker G Karthikeyan.
