THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: St Thomas Central School, Mukkolakkal, celebrated its 22nd annual day with various programmes. K S Radhakrishnan, Chairman, Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) was the chief guest.

The chief guest, along with P M Abraham, secretary, Mar Thoma Church Educational Society; Mathew John, treasurer; Fr Joseph John; George Oommen, principal; Cherian Regi, head boy; and Vandana Sreekumar, head girl; lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function the other day. In the annual report, the school principal elaborated on the achievements of the school in scholastic and non-scholastic areas. Radhakrishnan, in his address, commended the activities of the school and complimented the principal and staff of the school for taking the effort to provide a conducive atmosphere for the all-round development of the students.

 He requested the parents not to thrust their dreams on their children and never to compare them with their peers.  ‘’The best training that we can give the youngsters is not only to succeed, but also to accept failure and adversity with courage and move forward in life,’’ he said.  Radhakrishnan distributed prizes to the winners of the competitions held at the school.

Cherian Reji welcomed the gathering and Vandana Sreekumar proposed the vote of thanks. Many dignitaries, the heads of the sister institutions, parents and alumni attended the function.
