THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The third edition of the Annual India IT Summit would begin here on January 19. One of the premium conferences of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the IT summit would be held in the state for the first time.

Chief Minister Oomen Chandy would inaugurate the two-day summit at Vivanta by Taj on January 19. Minister for Industry & IT P K Kunjalikutty would deliver the keynote address during the inaugural session.

The 2012 edition of the event would have over 20 eminent personalities from India and abroad, discussing selected subjects of national relevance in four separate sessions. Over 300 delegates, including CEOs, industry experts, politicians, academicians and government officials, are expected to attend the event.

The theme of the event is ‘Business Strategies for Non-Linear Growth’.

The conference would see industry experts discuss the models which worked so

far for the growth of IT, rapidly escalating employee costs in India, threat of competition from several other low-cost locations and inefficiencies associated with unwieldy growth in head count.

KPMG, the knowledge partner for the event,  would bring out a white paper on the theme  India IT Summit 2012 and the General Outlook for the Indian IT Industry. The Chief Minister would release this.

Minister for Labour & Rehabilitation Shibu Baby John would deliver the keynote address during the valedictory session.

K M Chandrashekar, vice chairman, Planning Board; Ajay Kumar IAS, joint secretary, IT, Government of India; Alkesh K Sharma IAS,  MD, KSIDC; G Vijayaraghavan, member, Planning Board; Kris Gopalakrishnan, executive co-chairman Infosys; Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, president, Dell India; Avinash Vashistha, chairman and country Managing Director, Accenture India; V Ramaswamy, vice president,  TCS; Sudhir Nair, Sr vice president, Mahindra Satyam; Pradeep Udhas, executive director, KPMG, Rajeev S, director, ASB & Adjunct Faculty, IIM, Bangalore; Pritish Nandy,  chairman, Pritish Nandy Communications; Roopa Kudwa, Managing Director & CEO, CRISIL and Ashish Dhawan, Senior Managing Director Chrys Capital would participate in the summit.

Top diplomats from Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Japan are expected to attend ‘Partnering for Global Economic Revival’.
