THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Noted lyricist and film personality Sreekumaran Thampi has been selected for the Kozhisseri Balaraman literary award for the year 2011-12 instituted by the Kozhisseri Balaraman Foundation. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,001, citation and memento.
A jury comprising Erumeli Parameswaran Pillai (chairman), Nedumudi Harikumar (Professor, SD College, Alappuzha) and Indira Ashok (Professor, TKMM College, Nangyarkulangara) selected the awardee.
Foundation secretary Kozhisseri Ravindranathan, K B Pramod Kumar and Kumpalathu Madhukumar told a news conference here on Tuesday that the award presentation ceremony would be held at KPAC Auditorium, Kayamkulam, at 4 p.m. on January 22. C Divakaran MLA, will present the award.
C K Sadasivan MLA, will preside. C G Rajendrababu (Madras University) will deliver the commemoration lecture.
Erumeli Parameswaran Pillai, B Babuprasad, N Sukumarapillai, P Padmakumar, P Raghunath, G Sadasivan, Kozhisseri Santhakumari and A A Rahim will speak.
