THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The V Sarasamma award instituted by Navarasam Sangeetha Sabha will be presented to Flute maestro K Sivaramakrishna Iyer on January 21. The award is being given in connection with the 26th anniversary of the Sabha. K A Muraleedharan, Station Director, AIR Thiruvananthapuram, will present the award to the veteran musician at the Chembai Smaraka Hall, Sreevaraham, at 6 pm.

A Carnatic vocal concert composed as ‘Eka raga sangeetha archana’, will be organised in connection with the anniversary. Concerts featuring kritis in a single raga will be held in every month of 2012. The inaugural concert will be held as part of the ward ceremony from 6.45-8.30 pm. Vocalist Aryanadu H Raju will be accompanied by V K Haridas on the violin, Nanchil A R Arul on the Mridungam, and Krishna Iyer on the Ghadam.
