THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: G Madhavan Nair, former ISRO chairman, has opined that a technical solution rather than a political solution is required for solving the Mullaperiyar issue. Inaugurating the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Marian Engineering College, Kazhakoottam on Saturday, he said,”India had made marked progress in the Chandrayaan exploration and it was hoped that within six or seven years, India could launch the Chandrayaan using a robot.

He said India should focus on research sector. He said that though it was a matter of pride for Indians to have brothers shine in the research sectors abroad, it was also important to have such bright minds in the service of the country.
