The thoughful innovations of UST Global which won Excellence Awards 2011 in ‘Technology Innovation - Implemented and Initiated’ category instituted by Kerala Management Association (KMA) included these and a head wear which helps a blind person to navigate surroundings with better awareness.
The award was announced at the 31st annual KMA Convention held last week in Kochi.
UST Global, functioning in Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, had submitted three innovations conceived and developed at The Apple Tree, the compnay’s innovation gym.
The innovations on which the laurels were conferred included - Interactive Gesture Recognition, a software that captures specific gestures like the wave of a hand to control a power point presentation; Wearable Obstacle Detector (WOD) an electronic device that acts as an add-on to the white cane which aids the mobility of visually challenged persons and PowerUS - an energy management tool that eliminates wasted energy on computers without disrupting existing IT administration processes and without impacting critical user applications or data.

The KMA Annual Excellence Award is given in four categories other than technology innovations which are In house Magazine, CSR, Innovative HR Policies and Innovative cost management.
