THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Stadium is all set to celebrate the Republic Day. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will hoist the National Flag at 8.30 a.m. and will receive the salute.

Seventh Battalion of the Army’s Madras Regiment, Air Force, CRPF, Railway Police, Special Armed Police, City Police, Departments of Prison, Excise and Forest, Fire Force and Rescues, Senior Division boys, girls and Junior Division Army of NCC, Girls and boys of Student Police Cadet, Bharat Scouts and Guides, ‘Ashwarooda’ Police, Bands of SAP and KAP which are from the Military etc will line up for the parade.

“Around 500 police men will ensure the security of the event,” said City Police Commissioner T J Jose at a press meet here on Wednesday. The Police has arranged tight security under a team, led by City Police Commissioner, two DCPs, six Assistant Commissioners, 20 Circle Inspectors and 30 Sub Inspectors.

As a part of the security arrangements, the Public have been asked to avoid bags, mobile phones, Water Bottles etc. Public can enter the stadium from 7 a.m. onwards.
