THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The eighth edition of the Technopark Premier League (TPL), an inter-company cricket tournament organised every year, has been kicked off on Technopark campus here. As many as 108 companies are participating in the tournament.

TPL is an annual cricket tournament conducted by Technopark for the companies functioning on its campus. The matches are played on Saturdays, Sundays and other public holidays without compromising the working hours. This is the reason for the tournament lasting three months. The first round will be played in the league format, followed by the knockout round. The qualifying matches are of 10 overs. Quarterfinals have 15-over matches.

“All work and no play makes techies totally dull. Initially, when we started the tournament, there were only 18 teams and today some companies have two to three teams.

Such activities help the techies to unwind from their normal monotonous routine of hectic work and add spice to their work life on Technopark campus,” said Girish Babu, Technopark CEO
